About Cliff Hadley

As the Owner of Cliff’s Outboard Repair, I have been a resident of Citrus County for 45 years and I am the third generation whose life’s work has been centered around the marine trade.

My Grandfather, Cliff S. Hadley, a registered Naval Architect, builder of custom Yachts, designer and builder of inboard race boats, moved his business to Gulfport, Fl. in the late 1920’s.

My Father, Robert F. Hadley, returned home after serving in the U.S. Army, and took over the family business.  He continued to build and sell custom made wood boats for commercial, pleasure and racing use.  With the popularity of low cost, mass produced wood boats and the introduction of fiberglass, along with outboard motors becoming a great alternative to inboards, my Father took the business in a new direction.

I was sweeping floors and washing boats for him when this change came about.  We discontinued boat building and the shop was transformed into a showroom.   We became Boat and Outboard Motor dealers.

I’ve lived and breathed the boat and motor business for most of my life.  I can remember when I was very young, no matter whether it was electrical or mechanical I had to know how it worked and most of all why it didn’t.  I believe that obsession has driven me to be the outboard mechanic I am today.

I’ve attended Factory Schools and have received Service Master Certifications and Awards.  I have worked as an Outboard Mechanic for two Marine Dealers in Citrus County, servicing most all brands on the market.

I owned and operated a full service Marina on the Homosassa River, selling new and used boats and motors, marine hardware and electronics.  As time went by I decided to dedicate the business solely to the repair and maintenance of Outboard Motors.   I relocated my business to a smaller facility, allowing me to continue to provide the same level of quality and service at a lower cost to my customers.

Regardless of the brands, over the years 2 and 4 cycle outboards have been improving on what they do and how they do it.  To accurately diagnose and repair the motors of today, I use the latest electronic diagnostic tools available to determine why your motor is not performing properly.

My business goal is to allow every customer the opportunity to talk directly with their Repair Technician.  This allows you to discuss any problems or concerns directly to the individual that will be repairing your motor.

My service goal is to have you back on the water as soon as possible.  I have the Experience, Training and Equipment to make that happen

Contact me for an appointment.  I’m looking forward to serving you.

Thank You,
Cliff Hadley
